Graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, in Virginia. A second generation builder/developer with over 30 years experience in real estate sales, homebuilding, and land development. Along with Ralph Teal, owned and operated the largest private homebuilding company in South Carolina. He also operated one of the largest divisions of a public homebuilding company ranked the 6th largest homebuilder in the nation. As many as 700 homes per year were constructed with a gross sales volume in excess of $175M annually. Retired after a successful tenure of over 18 years as Division President with Beazer Homes. Gilford is now actively involved in the construction, financing and development of Plantation Lakes and Wild Wing Plantation in the Myrtle Beach area and most recently, Hilton Head Lakes.
